Regular care method
With proper care and occasional maintenance, HushTug leather will stay beautiful and last for many years.
For products made with Himeji leather and Mongolian leather, please refer to the following content:
Care Before First Use
When your product arrives, we recommend applying a leather care cream evenly over the entire surface.
There is no specific brand requirement, but at HushTug we recommend Collonil Aniline Cream (emulsion type)(https://amzn.to/)

The leather used by HushTug pairs well with this care method, helping to preserve its natural luster and character for years to come.
Since some time may pass between production and delivery, the leather can gradually dry out, causing it to lose its original shine.
By following the steps below and replenishing the leather with a suitable amount of oil, you can gently revive and care for leather that has endured a long journey.
① Apply oil

Take a small amount of oil directly onto your hand and spread it evenly across your palms.
By applying the oil to the bag in this state, your body heat will gently warm the oil, allowing it to penetrate deeper into the leather.
Apply it thinly and evenly over the entire surface of the product.
To avoid over-application, use only a small amount at a time and repeat the process in several light layers.
If you prefer not to apply the oil by hand, you can also use a soft cotton cloth to gently spread it across the leather.
② Let it air dry naturally

After applying the oil, let the leather air dry for about one hour.
We recommend placing it in a shaded, well-ventilated area such as a hallway in your home.
③ Wipe off with a dry cloth

After about an hour, wipe off all the remaining oil with a dry cloth.
Once the surface no longer feels sticky, your leather is ready to use.
Tip: After the oil has dried, lightly spray a waterproofing product such as Collonil(https://amzn.to/2TDs6EU)to protect your leather from unexpected rain.
Monthly Care Routine
Think of leather as similar to human skin.
If dirt is left on the surface, it can damage the quality of the leather.
During dry winter months, if oil is not replenished, the leather can become stiff and cracked.
Follow the three steps below to keep your leather in excellent condition:
① Remove dirt with a brush

Using a soft-bristled brush, such as a horsehair brush(https://amzn.to/3659UXi) gently brush the surface to remove any dirt.
A soft brush not only cleans the surface but also helps lift out dust and debris that may have settled deep in the leather grain.
② Apply oil

Precautions for Use
The leather used by HushTug is resistant to scratches and stains, and it adapts well to different climates.
With proper care, it can stay beautiful for many years. However, please pay close attention to the following two points:
① Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight

Genuine leather is sensitive to direct sunlight.
While HushTug leather is perfectly fine for use within Japan, we recommend avoiding use in countries with extremely strong sunlight where people can experience severe sunburn.
② Wipe off immediately if it gets wet

Please take extra care when using your leather in the rain.
If you wipe off any moisture immediately, there will be no problem. However, leaving water on the surface can cause warping or water stains.
On the following page, we introduce four methods to handle unexpected issues.
How to Handle Leather Troubles
With the right approach, you can protect the natural character of the leather without compromising its quality.
Stay calm and handle any issues carefully.
