Many of HushTug's products are manufactured in our own 840m2 factory in Mongolia.

Young craftsmen and experienced veteran craftsmen work together to make everything by hand, and it takes about eight hours to complete one product, including all the steps.

Skilled craftsmen perform this work with such precision that even a mistake of a few millimeters is not permitted.

The production team is constantly working on improvements to please the Japanese people. We'd like to introduce you to the production site, which is usually not in the spotlight.

Confirmation of production schedule

Before starting production, the executives first discuss how many items to make and by when.

The schedule must be determined carefully, taking into account the Japanese side's requirements and the state of the factory.

Drawing and cutting parts

After the schedule is decided, we start the actual production. The first thing we do is sketch and cut the parts.

An average of 20 parts are needed to complete a product, and each one is carefully crafted over a long period of time.

Her name is Tugso, a new craftsman.

She is a lovable character who keeps a smile on her face even when her fellow craftsmen scribble on her face. She is a presence that makes the atmosphere at the workplace more harmonious.

Stitching and sewing parts

Once the parts have been created, they are sewn together to create a complete product.

In the factory, skilled craftsmen carefully sew the pieces together, taking more than double the usual time.

The secret to the beautiful stitching of HushTug products lies in these fine details.

Her name is Moogie, a new employee.

She originally worked in the sewing industry, so her sewing skills are among the best in the factory.

Although she is a newcomer to the team, she has been promoted to the sewing team, which holds an important position at HushTug.

Product inspection

Once production is complete, we carry out a final inspection.

At HushTug, we inspect each product for over 30 items, such as whether there are any sewing mistakes or whether the product has a nice shape.

A manager performs strict checks at each stage of the process. After a total of three inspections, only products that pass all inspection items are shipped to Japan.

His name is Argie, and he's in charge of inspection.

The intimidating Mr. Argie is one of the most knowledgeable leather product manufacturers in the factory, and with a stern eye he inspects every detail of the products, and if he finds any mistakes, he instructs the craftsmen to remake them.

Although he is a little feared by the other craftsmen, Argie is also the first to help when someone is in trouble. Everyone loves him and sees him as an older brother figure.

He is one of our most reliable craftsmen.

Shipping of products

After inspection, the products are finally packed into cardboard boxes for shipping to Japan.

The delicate thing about leather products is that even a slight impact can cause wrinkles and scratches.

・Between the inside of the cardboard box and the product ・Between products

All of the above is lined with cushioning material and designed to withstand external shocks.

The products are placed in non-woven bags and then packed in cardboard boxes to prevent them from getting dirty.

We are thankful to have many customers purchasing our products, and our factory is filled with cardboard boxes just before each monthly shipment.

The shipping is completed once the cardboard box containing the product is handed over to the shipping company.

In this way, we are able to deliver products that have been lovingly made by Mongolian artisans to our customers.

After work

On the evening after shipping is complete, all the craftsmen go out to eat together.

We are a team that enjoys talking about work as well as personal matters, and we have a strong relationship of trust even outside of work.

This day happened to be the birthday of Chimge, one of the people in charge.

All the craftsmen celebrate the birthdays of our members.

In this way, we create our products as a friendly team that trusts each other.

History of the HushTug Factory

HushTug is now bustling with many artisans, but it started out in a small basement workshop in December 2017.

From then on, we gradually became known to Japanese customers, and by December 2018, we had more and more craftsmen working with us.

In December 2019, we were blessed with many craftsmen and our factory has become both a challenging and enjoyable place to work.

As a result of our expansion and relocation on May 15, 2020, we have grown to become one of the largest bag manufacturing factories in Mongolia.

HushTug has grown to this size thanks to the constant support from the people of Japan. Thank you very much.

Interview

We spoke to factory manager Daiki Kawada about HushTug.

interviewer
First of all, thank you for your hard work in running the factory every day.
Daiki Kawada
thank you.

When we first set up the factory we were frustrated because we couldn't produce products that we were satisfied with, but recently we feel that we have achieved a quality that will please our Japanese customers.

Thank you very much to everyone in Japan for your continued support of HushTug.
interviewer
I've heard that the HushTug factory has recently become well-known within Mongolia. What do you think about that?
Daiki Kawada
I agree.

The production volume has become one of the highest in Mongolia's domestic leather bag industry.

The quality of our products has also been recognized, and we even received a letter of appreciation at a Mongolian export seminar we attended recently.
interviewer
Do you feel that your name recognition is increasing?
Daiki Kawada
Yes, we are now receiving requests for factory tours from groups, and we feel that our name recognition is gradually increasing.
interviewer
What are your future prospects?
Daiki Kawada
First of all, we must never compromise on the quality of our products. That is the only thing we think about.

Having achieved the above, we would like to employ even more craftsmen in the future.

I would be delighted if I could make HushTug a globally recognized brand and contribute even a little to the development of Mongolia.
interviewer
thank you very much.
