01What is HushTug?

HushTug

HushTug is a leather brand that launched in 2019.

Although all founding members had no apparel experience, we are grateful to have grown to receive 100 orders daily.

While primarily expanding through online sales, we opened the Ikebukuro store in 2023 and our second store, Harajuku Omotesando, in 2025.

Currently, our two stores combined achieve monthly sales of 10 million yen.

We aim to open our third store in 2026 and plan for further expansion.

HushTug has grown primarily online until now.

However, going forward, store operations and expansion will become the core business of the brand.

Behind this is a change we noticed precisely because we have grown the brand online.

03Job Responsibilities

At HushTug, we view our store staff not as "mere salespeople" but as central figures who directly convey the brand's value to customers.

However, the actual work is not particularly difficult.

What's needed is not flashy customer service skills or specialized knowledge, but simply an honest approach to each customer in front of you.

If you have sales experience, we will thoroughly teach you HushTug's unique customer service and workflow one-on-one after you join, so you can start with confidence.

Specific tasks include:

  • In-store customer service (communication to build brand fans, more than just "selling")

  • Accounting operations

  • Inventory management and ordering

  • Administrative tasks related to store operations

  • Goal management and actions to achieve them

  • Shift creation and staff training

  • Optimization of displays and arrangements

  • Store SNS outreach and management

  • Weekly in-office store meetings

None of these are glamorous jobs, but the accumulation of each one leads to customer experiences where they think, "I'm glad I came," and "I'm glad I bought it at this store."

That is the main reason why HushTug's stores are supported.

03Desired Candidate Profile

When you apply, we will consider various factors such as your motivation and personality, but HushTug is particularly looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Those with sales and customer service experience

Many customers visit HushTug stores after learning about the brand online, so there's no need for high-pressure sales tactics.

However, basic customer service experience and skills as a salesperson are a great asset when interacting with customers.

The industry doesn't matter.

This is an environment where you can fully utilize the sales and store staff experience you have accumulated.

Furthermore, HushTug is currently in the initial stages of store expansion.

We would like you to be involved in nurturing the store business itself, sharing your past field experience with other staff members.

  • Those who want to work by thinking and acting independently, not just following manuals.

At HushTug, we value thinking, innovating, and executing independently more than simply performing tasks according to a set of rules.

In customer service, no two customers have the same situation or values.

This role is suitable for individuals who can assess each customer's situation and provide optimal suggestions on the spot.

Experience in management positions such as store manager or assistant manager is, of course, welcome, but even if you haven't held such a position, we strongly encourage those with:

04About Work Style

Work Location

You will primarily be working at:

     
  • HushTug Harajuku Omotesando store, approximately 8 minutes walk from Harajuku Station (approx. 4 minutes from Meiji-jingumae Station, approx. 9 minutes from Omotesando Station)
  •  
  • HushTug Ikebukuro store, approximately 15 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station
  •  
  • The planned Shinjuku store, to be opened in the future

You may also be required to commute to the head office in Otsuka Station irregularly.

Unless requested, there is currently no possibility of transfer or relocation from existing stores or future urban stores.


Workplace Atmosphere

While there are rules in our stores to ensure customers have a comfortable experience, we aim for a workplace that thoroughly eliminates unnecessary stress outside of those rules.

  • Freedom in hairstyles and clothing
  • Freedom to take breaks (depending on the number of people in the store and business hours)
  • Ability to sit and work when there are no customers
  • No sales quotas or self-purchases
  • No heavy physical labor required

There are no suffocating hierarchies or internal politics, and everyone in the workplace is genuinely focused on their skill development and improving customer satisfaction.

Even store staff have a high degree of individual discretion regarding suggestions for store improvements and customer service methods, which is a differentiating factor from other brands.

Additionally, due to the small number of staff, there are many opportunities for communication with the president, vice president, and head office staff, and store staff opinions are often adopted.

HushTug is currently operated by 11 full-time employees (6 men, 5 women) and 2 male executives.

The average age of full-time employees is 27, making it a relatively young organization.

In addition, we have 20 contract and part-time members (10 men, 10 women), and a team of approximately 30 supports HushTug.

About Holidays

One of HushTug's cultural tenets is "rest properly when it's time to rest."

We have a complete two-day weekend system, and employees are asked to submit their desired days off for the following week by Thursday of the previous week. (Management methods may change with store expansion)

For store staff, shifts are managed by multiple staff members, but you can take holidays as freely as possible after adjusting your requested dates.

While there are no public holidays, there are special holidays during Obon and New Year's. (You may need to adjust your holiday schedule based on store operations.)

Additionally, the paid leave utilization rate is 100% for all employees, so you can easily use it.

Overtime is never enforced, so almost all employees go home at the scheduled time every day.

Let's rest properly and maximize performance during working hours.

Evaluation System

At HushTug, we conduct salary reviews and evaluations twice a year.

While achieving results certainly leads to higher evaluations, we also fairly evaluate daily efforts and processes.

Salary reviews are conducted thoroughly, and raises are not just for show.

In fact, one employee's base salary increased by 100,000 yen in a year due to significant contributions to the company.

Although we don't have regular one-on-one meetings, you can request a meeting with your supervisor at any time.
