We currently have stores in Ikebukuro and Harajuku Omotesando, and plan to open new stores in the future.

01 What is HushTug?

HushTug is a leather brand that began selling in 2019.
None of the founding members had any experience in the apparel industry, but the company is run by six full-time employees and has grown to the point where it receives around 100 orders every day.
Although we mainly sell online, we opened our Ikebukuro store in 2023 and our second store, the Harajuku Omotesando store, in 2025. We aim to open our third store this year.

The company is currently growing at a rate that surpasses that of established brands that have been in business for decades, and plans to continue expanding its business through online and store openings.

02 Business content
Up until now, HushTug has grown primarily online.
However, from 2025 onwards, store operation and development will become the brand's core business.

Behind this lies a change that we have noticed because we have grown our brand online.
Advances in AI and devices are making online shopping experiences increasingly convenient, but there are some issues that cannot be resolved by these alone.

It's an innate human desire to "see, touch and choose." When buying something expensive, you don't want to make a mistake, and you want to be satisfied with the choice you make for something important.
That feeling will not change in the future.
In other words, it can be said that HushTug store staff will be taking on very important tasks in the future.
HushTug store staff are primarily responsible for two tasks.
The first is customer service, where you act as the face of the brand and recommend products to customers.
This is probably an easy job to imagine, but there is one big difference compared to working for a typical apparel brand.
That is, "having many customers who found out about us online come to our store."
Since many customers already have an understanding of the products and brands, rather than the traditional sales style of forcing sales on them, we are looking for customer service that sincerely helps customers solve their problems, provides advice, and helps them choose products together.
The second role of HushTug's store staff is to assist with attracting customers online.
As mentioned earlier in the customer service section, we will be raising awareness online, but store staff will not be in constant contact with customers and will assist with attracting customers online during times when there are no customers in the store.
For example, staff will perform supporting tasks to increase the number of customers visiting the store, such as writing articles to be posted on the web and updating social media.
"It's difficult because I have no experience attracting customers online."
Some of you may feel that way.

However, of course, we have prepared a manual and you will only be working on auxiliary tasks, so there is no need to worry.
There is also a reason why we would like store staff to take on tasks other than customer service.
The reason is to raise the salaries of store staff.

In general, many brands say that customer service work in stores pays low wages and there are limited opportunities for advancement after that.
It may be inevitable that if you are only involved in sales, your salary will be difficult to increase, as you are based on the brand.
That's why we can pay higher salaries to people who can help attract customers online and contribute to building brand awareness and attracting customers to stores.

03Desired talent

→This applies to both customer service and online customer acquisition assistance work, but I think HushTug is better suited to people who enjoy coming up with their own ideas and putting them into practice, rather than clerical work where you follow a manual to the letter.
For example, when it comes to customer service, no two customers have exactly the same situation or values, so it would be ideal to be able to suggest products that suit the situation.

You will be working at the following location: Otsuka Station. You may also be required to work at our head office at Otsuka Station on an irregular basis.
Unless you wish to do so, there is currently no possibility of transfer or relocation from existing stores or future downtown store areas.

We have five full-time employees, with a gender ratio of four men and one woman (plus two male executives).
There are 12 contract or part-time employees (5 men, 7 women), with an average age of around 25 years old.

Our stores have rules to ensure that customers have a comfortable time, but we also aim to create a workplace that thoroughly eliminates all other unnecessary stress.

- You can take breaks at any time (depending on the number of people in the store and opening hours)
- You can sit and work when there are no customers.
- No quotas or self-purchasing
- No heavy lifting required
There are no strict hierarchical relationships or internal politics in our workplace, and everyone is focused purely on improving their own skills and increasing customer satisfaction.

Another difference from other brands is that store staff have a great deal of discretion when it comes to improving the store and giving their opinions on customer service methods.
Also, because we have a small staff, there are many opportunities to communicate with the president, vice president, and head office staff, and the opinions of store staff are often adopted.
About holidays
One of the cultures at HushTug is to "rest well when you need to rest."
Employees are given two days off per week, and are asked to declare their preferred days off for the following week by the previous Sunday. (This management method may change as we expand our stores.)
For store staff, shifts are managed by multiple staff members, but employees are able to take days off as freely as possible by adjusting their desired dates.

We do not have holidays, but we do have special holidays during Obon and the New Year holidays. (We may need to adjust our store opening hours and shift our holidays.)
In addition, all employees are entitled to 100% paid leave, so they can use it freely.
No one is forced to work overtime, so all employees go home on time almost every day.
When you do take a break, make sure to rest well and maximize your performance during work hours.
