If you encounter an unexpected problem, the correct action will prevent damage to the leather's texture. Remain calm and address the issue carefully.
First, wipe the wet area with a dry cloth.
At this time, rubbing vigorously may damage the leather, so please press the cloth to absorb the moisture.
If water has penetrated deep into the leather, insert newspaper or a towel into the product and dry it thoroughly. If the inside is not dry, stains may appear on the surface later.
If the product gets wet, stuff a suitable amount of newspaper or similar material inside to prevent it from losing its shape.
The most important thing to watch out for when leather gets wet is deformation. When wet, leather becomes excessively soft, and the original shape of the product can be lost. If left as is, the deformed shape will set, so be careful.
Air dry it in a well-ventilated area of your home (such as a hallway) until it is completely dry.
It is strictly prohibited to expose it to direct sunlight or a hairdryer to dry it faster. Also, please refrain from using the product until it is completely dry.
Once the product is completely dry, apply leather conditioner to the wet area. When leather products get wet, they lose their internal oils, dry out, and can cause cracks.
Apply a repair cream that best matches the color of your product to the scratched area. HushTug recommends SAPHIR's repair cream.
※ For navy and brown, the leather color may vary depending on the purchase date. If you wish to confirm the details, please contact us via the inquiry form.
Once the cream is completely dry, gently rub with a soft-bristled brush for about 2 minutes to make the scratches less noticeable.
Rub with enough force to slightly flatten the bristles (about 1 cm) as rubbing too hard can damage the leather.
Cover the wrinkled area with a thin cloth, such as gauze.
Place a dry iron (steam strictly prohibited) at 90-100℃ over the cloth for about 3 seconds. At this time, press the iron down without moving it.
After performing the above, check if the wrinkles have been removed. If there is no change, repeat the same process.
Steam irons can damage leather. Always use on dry mode.
Prepare a leather eraser. A stationery eraser can also be used as a substitute.
Gently rub the surface. If the dirt does not come off, gradually increase the pressure.
