Leather Trouble Care
Leather Trouble Care

If you encounter an unexpected problem, the correct action will prevent damage to the leather's texture. Remain calm and address the issue carefully.

💧 If it gets wet with water
Step 01 Wipe the wet area with a cloth

First, wipe the wet area with a dry cloth.

At this time, rubbing vigorously may damage the leather, so please press the cloth to absorb the moisture.

If water has penetrated deep into the leather, insert newspaper or a towel into the product and dry it thoroughly. If the inside is not dry, stains may appear on the surface later.

Step 02 Fill with newspaper etc. to prevent deformation

If the product gets wet, stuff a suitable amount of newspaper or similar material inside to prevent it from losing its shape.

The most important thing to watch out for when leather gets wet is deformation. When wet, leather becomes excessively soft, and the original shape of the product can be lost. If left as is, the deformed shape will set, so be careful.

Step 03 Air dry

Air dry it in a well-ventilated area of your home (such as a hallway) until it is completely dry.

⚠ Strictly Prohibited

It is strictly prohibited to expose it to direct sunlight or a hairdryer to dry it faster. Also, please refrain from using the product until it is completely dry.

Step 04 Apply oil

Once the product is completely dry, apply leather conditioner to the wet area. When leather products get wet, they lose their internal oils, dry out, and can cause cracks.

For prevention, it is recommended to apply fluorine-based waterproof spray (such as Collonil). If moisture penetrates deep into the leather, a precise response will be required.

Step 02 Rub with a brush

Once the cream is completely dry, gently rub with a soft-bristled brush for about 2 minutes to make the scratches less noticeable.

Rub with enough force to slightly flatten the bristles (about 1 cm) as rubbing too hard can damage the leather.

Recommended Item M.MOWBRAY Professional Horsehair Brush For dust removal and finishing / M.MOWBRAY
For deep scratches (where the surface is visibly gouged) that cannot be removed by the above methods, some online sources suggest smoothing the surface with sandpaper, but we do not recommend this as it may worsen the situation. We recommend requesting a repair service.

👔 If it gets wrinkled
Step 01 Prepare a thin cloth

Cover the wrinkled area with a thin cloth, such as gauze.

Step 02 Apply a dry iron

Place a dry iron (steam strictly prohibited) at 90-100℃ over the cloth for about 3 seconds. At this time, press the iron down without moving it.

Step 03 Check for wrinkles

After performing the above, check if the wrinkles have been removed. If there is no change, repeat the same process.

⚠ Steam is strictly prohibited

Steam irons can damage leather. Always use on dry mode.

For deep wrinkles that cannot be resolved by the above methods, we recommend requesting a repair service.
