Recruitment Information
Would you like to work on product development at a rapidly growing apparel venture?

HushTug is currently recruiting a full-time product designer to plan and develop leather products.
Would you like to join us in creating a product with your ideal design and experience the thrill of being praised by customers all over Japan?
01 What is HushTug?

HushTug is a men's leather brand founded in 2019.
None of the founding members had any experience in the apparel industry, but the company is run by a small, elite team of four employees. In its fifth year, the company has grown to a monthly turnover of over 60 million yen, with more than 90 orders being placed every day.
Although online sales are the main focus, the company opened its flagship showroom in Ikebukuro last year and is aiming to open its second store, in Shibuya, within this year.

The company is currently growing at a speed that surpasses that of established brands that have been in business for decades, and is also launching a new women's brand.

02 Business Contents
Product designers first learn how to create products that sell.

There are all kinds of products out there in the world, but many of them barely sell and disappear.
There are many reasons why products don't sell, but the main reason is the misconception that "if you make a cool product, it will sell."
Before founding HushTug, we were a web advertising agency, so we are better than other brands at "developing products that sell online."
There are many characteristics of products that sell well online. Here are some specific examples:
- The product category is in demand in the market (calculated based on Google search numbers, etc.)
- High quality (perceived quality) that can be recognized even by an amateur
- Easy-to-use design that blends in with a variety of fashion styles
- Web creative (images/videos) must look good.
These include (and dozens more).
If you keep these things in mind, as we have proven, even an amateur can create a "sellable product."
After its release, this leather sacoche sold out immediately, at a rate of one every two seconds.
Popular HushTug Products

I feel like there are too many designers out there who don't understand this.
To put it bluntly, no matter how cool a product you create, it's meaningless if it doesn't sell. A designer who can't create a product that sells has no value.
Conversely, designers who can create products that sell will see their market value skyrocket.
Even if he were to leave HushTug, he would likely be inundated with offers for high salaries.
By working as a product designer at HushTug, you will become a person who is "in demand by any company."

Returning to the main topic, what we look for in a product designer is someone who can "create products that sell."
From the day you join us, you will begin developing the product you want to create.
What kind of bag do you want? What size? What shape of pockets? What price? We'll consider all of these together.
We will also teach you step-by-step how to create products that sell (market research and thinking), so come join us and grow into a first-class designer.
In addition to product development, there are of course also other ancillary tasks such as ordering materials for the products, communicating with craftsmen, and serving customers in the store.
If you are the type of person who chooses a job with the thought, "I only want this job," we believe that you do not have the potential to grow, so please refrain from applying to HushTug.
03 Required talent
Below are the characteristics of people who are a good fit for the HushTug culture and those who are not. Please be sure to read it before applying.
Characteristics of suitable personnel
- Those who have high aspirations to become a top designer and are prepared to spare no effort to achieve that goal.
- Those who are not only good at talking, but also have the ability to act without fear of failure and not give up until they succeed.
- Those who do not blame others or the environment for their failures, but take responsibility for everything themselves, and continue to work toward self-improvement
- People who find joy in satisfying customers and who consider "other people's happiness to be their own happiness"
Characteristics of unsuitable personnel
- People who think it's enough to become a decent designer
- People who have unnecessary pride and are unable to follow advice
- Those who blame others or the environment, do not learn from their mistakes, and have no desire to grow.
- People who think that it's okay as long as they are happy and cannot sympathize with doing business with honesty towards customers.
04Work Style
Workplace
Work locations are in two locations in Tokyo: Otsuka and Ikebukuro.
At present, there is no possibility of the base being far away from this area or of being transferred.
Product designers often travel by train or car to visit artisans' workshops and other brands' stores to research, so they often work in cafes while traveling rather than working entirely in an office.
Workplace atmosphere
The company has four employees, three male and one female (plus two male executives).

There are six employees (one male and five females) who are contracted or part-time workers, with an average age of about 28 years old.
Each member works towards high goals every day, but we also aim to create a workplace that thoroughly eliminates all other unnecessary stress (hairstyle and dress code are also optional).
There are no oppressive hierarchical relationships or internal politics in our workplace; everyone is simply focused on improving their own skills and increasing customer satisfaction.

Taking action is encouraged, and there is a strong culture in which even failure is valued as evidence of having taken action.
The remote work system that previously existed has now been abolished for productivity reasons, but after coming to the office in the morning, it is acceptable to go to a place where you can concentrate best (a cafe, a park, etc.) and work there.
Also, because we have a small number of employees, you will be able to work closely with the president and vice president, and there are many opportunities to gain exposure to the management of a venture company.
About holidays
One of the cultures at HushTug is to "rest well when you need to rest."
Employees are given two days off per week, and are required to declare their preferred days off for the following week by the previous Sunday.
You are required to come to work on Tuesdays as there is a company-wide meeting, but you are free to take days off on other days.

There are no holidays, but we do have 15 days of special holidays including Obon and New Year's holidays.
In addition, all employees are entitled to use 100% of their paid leave, so they can use it freely.
No one is forced to work overtime, so all employees go home on time almost every day.
When you do take a break, make sure to rest well and maximize your performance during work hours.

09Finally
HushTug is a young brand that was founded only five years ago, but we aim to make it one of the top brands in Japan, and we also plan to diversify the brand into other genres beyond leather products and expand overseas.
HushTug is currently in its early stages, and we expect all current members to play active roles as future executive members.
Compared to large corporations, there are still some areas where our internal structure is not yet fully developed, but everyone there has a venturesome mindset and is eager to grow.
If you produce results, you can expect a salary increase of several hundred thousand yen per month over the course of a year, and you'll also have the opportunity to experience seeing a rapidly expanding brand up close.
Although there are many difficult aspects, I promise that this is an environment where you will be able to look back in the future and truly say, "I'm glad I joined HushTug."
- Do a decent job for a decent salary and waste your life
- Will you place yourself in a challenging but rewarding environment and seize a bright future with your own hands?
It's up to you to decide.
We are looking for applications from enthusiastic individuals who are determined to become top designers.
