Regular care method
If you take proper care of HushTug leather, it will stay in good condition for a long time.

Maintenance before use
When you receive the product, the first thing you should do is apply leather care cream all over the product.
There is no specified cream, but HushTug recommends Collonil Aniline Emulsifying Cream ( https://amzn.to/ ).
It goes well with the leather used by HushTug, and helps maintain the luster and texture of the leather for a long time.
If there is a gap between manufacturing and delivery, the leather may gradually dry out and lose its original luster.
Follow the steps below to properly oil your leather and give it some gentle care after a long journey.
① Apply oil
Take a small amount of oil directly onto your hands and rub it evenly over your palms.
By applying oil directly to the bag in this state, the oil will melt with body heat and penetrate deeper into the leather.
Apply a thin, even layer over the entire product.
If you apply a small amount of oil in multiple steps, you can avoid over-application. If you are concerned about getting your hands dirty, gently apply the oil all over your hands with a soft cloth such as cotton.
② Allow to dry naturally
Once you've finished painting, let it air dry for about an hour. We recommend doing this in a well-ventilated, shady area, such as a hallway at home.
Wipe off with a dry cloth
After an hour, wipe off all the oil with a dry cloth.
Once the stickiness on the surface has completely disappeared, it is ready to use.
*After the oil has dried, you can rest assured if you spray it with a waterproof spray such as Collonil ( https://amzn.to/2TDs6EU ) even if you are caught in a sudden rain shower.
Monthly maintenance
Basically, think of leather as being the same as human skin.
Leaving dirt on the leather will have a negative effect on the quality of the leather, and if the leather is not replenished with oils during the dry winter months, it will dry out and crack.
Follow these three steps to maintain it regularly:
Remove dirt with a brush
Gently scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush, such as a horsehair brush ( https://amzn.to/3659UXi ), to remove dirt.
Use a soft brush to remove any dirt that is deep inside the leather.
② Apply oil
Take the leather care oil directly into your hands and rub it evenly over the palms of your hands.
By applying the oil directly to the bag in this state, your body heat will melt the oil and it will penetrate deeper into the leather. Apply it thinly and evenly over the entire product.
Take a small amount of oil and apply it in multiple steps to prevent over-application.
If you are concerned about getting your hands dirty, gently apply the product all over your hands using a soft cloth such as cotton.
3) Allow to dry naturally
Once you've finished painting, let it air dry for about an hour. We recommend doing this in a well-ventilated, shady area, such as a hallway at home.
④ Wipe off with a dry cloth
After an hour, wipe off all the oil with a dry cloth.
It is ready to use once all the stickiness on the surface has been removed.
Precautions for use
The leather used by HushTug is resistant to scratches and stains, and can withstand a variety of climates. If you treat it with care, it will last a long time in good condition, but please be sure to pay close attention to the following two points.
① Do not expose to sunlight for long periods of time
Genuine leather is a material that is vulnerable to direct sunlight.
There is no problem with HushTug leather being used in Japan, but we recommend that you refrain from using it in countries where people may suffer from severe sunburn.
② If it gets wet, wipe it off
Please be careful when handling this product in rainy weather.
There is no problem if you wipe off the water immediately after it gets on the product, but if you leave it on the product it may lose its shape or cause water stains.
