This time, we would like to introduce a sample of our newly completed " Helmet Bag ".
In this article, we will explain the storage capacity, design features, and what a helmet bag is in the first place.

What is a helmet bag?
First of all, here is the completed helmet bag.
A typical helmet bag is characterized by a design that has two large external pockets on the front .
Helmet bags originated in the 1940s as bags made for the military to carry helmets and oxygen masks.
Nowadays, it is widely used as a military-themed fashion item.
Many of these products are made of nylon, and are sold by brands such as PORTER, but leather helmet bags are rare, so we decided to give it a try this time.
When making a bag out of leather, the amount of leather required increases due to the large number of outer pockets, making it thicker and more difficult to manufacture.
This makes it an item that is rarely seen in other companies.
Design and Functional Features
This bag has a vertical pocket on the front that can hold a 500ml plastic bottle or a folding umbrella, and it also has a flap for ease of use.
The back has a wide pocket with a magnet, which can also store documents and large PCs .
It also has a 2-way design that allows it to be carried by hand or over the shoulder, making it suitable for business use.
The interior has a padded PC pocket on one side that provides ample protection for a 13- to 14-inch laptop.
The other side has three small pockets for business cards and smartphones, making it easy to organize small items.
The lining is not the brushed deersue that has been widely used in the past, but a smooth, stain-resistant fabric that has a business-like feel.
Furthermore, the metal fittings are made by the German parts manufacturer Fidlock.
This metal fitting has a locking mechanism that can only be released in a certain direction, and can be easily attached and detached by performing a specific action.
These reliable parts, which are also often used in outdoor equipment, enhance the functionality of the bag as a whole.
Actual storage example
The outer pocket can hold a 500ml PET bottle or folding umbrella vertically, and the back pocket can securely hold an A4 binder or A4 file.
The interior PC pocket fits a 13-14 inch laptop perfectly, and other pockets can store a pencil case, wallet, business card holder, etc.
The main compartment can hold chargers and pouches, and the soft leather conforms to the shape of your belongings, so even large amounts of items can be stored easily .
Future improvements planned
This sample is packed with features, but for the next sample we plan to remove unnecessary parts and make it lighter and easier to use.
Specifically, the back pocket will be eliminated, the interior magnet will be replaced with a hook-and-eye fastener, and the amount of leather used will be reduced to make the bag lighter .
Furthermore, the current leather shoulder straps are soft and have a padding inside, but as this puts a lot of strain on the shoulders when carrying large items, we are considering changing them to a padded version.

This sample is still in the prototype stage, but we plan to continue improving it to improve its quality.
