What is a new product with a reason?

The "new products with defects" we are selling this time refer to products that were damaged during production and therefore cannot be sold as new .

Cordovan is a rare leather obtained from the horse's buttocks, and its main characteristics are its smooth texture, vivid color, and the way it changes over time.

Although it is more delicate to handle than regular cowhide, you can enjoy the scratches and changes in color and luster that occur as you use it. However, this new product has some tiny scratches that occurred during production.

Although the scratches are minor, as HushTug is a leather brand that aims to deliver high quality products, we cannot sell these products as brand new .

The reason behind the decision to sell new products with reasons

However, there are two reasons why we decided to sell products with defects.

The first one is the feedback from a customer I mentioned earlier.

We felt bad that we were unable to deliver the long wallet that we had made together with our craftsmen, even though you had taken the time to find HushTug and wanted it.

Since we have received many requests to buy the product, we thought we could provide an option for customers who are willing to accept it after explaining that it is a new item with a reason for its existence .

The second is related to the brand philosophy from the time of the company's founding .

Some of you may not know this, but we at HushTug started as a leather brand in a country called Mongolia .

At the time, in order to solve social problems in Mongolia, we used leather harvested in Mongolia as a sign of respect for the local people and animals.

Naturally, compared to leather that has been carefully processed in Japan, the leather of animals that have survived in the wild often has original scratches, but rather than wasting it, we thought that remaking it into leather products and using it would be a contribution to Mongolia .

Even now, due to circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine, we have moved our production to Japan, but throwing away damaged products and letting them go to waste would go against the philosophy we had when we were founded.

With this vision in mind when we first started the company and after much consideration given to customer feedback, we have decided to sell these products as special offers.

Details of scratches on defective products

Now, let me explain the condition of the defective item.

As shown in the image above, most of the scratches are small and become more noticeable when exposed to sunlight or other light .

As you use the product , natural small scratches will blend in and become less noticeable , but we hope you understand that they will still not become completely invisible.
