"HushTug" is looking for a full-time employee in charge of marketing and design

Hello, this is HushTug .
HushTug is a leather brand that sells bags and accessories made from genuine leather.
The brand was created after our CEO, Toda, encountered leather products in Mongolia, and has been in operation for about four years since the online store was launched in 2019.
We started from scratch with people who had no experience in the apparel industry , but we are thankful to have been chosen by many customers.
Achieve monthly sales of 30 million yen by 2022

Sales over the entire period
(Shopify only, also Rakuten and Amazon)
Opening a showroom in Ikebukuro in April 2023

We ourselves are also experiencing growth.
As these brands grow, we are looking for people to work with us in the areas of marketing and design .
(※If you just want to check the recruitment requirements, you can check them by clicking the button below.)
Initially, you will be assisting with current marketing work as a full-time employee, but in the future you will also be able to take on a variety of tasks at your own discretion.
01About our business

Once again, my name is Oishi, and I am in charge of marketing at HushTug.
For this full-time position, I would first like you to assist me with my work!
The main task I am in charge of at HushTug is "tasks related to acquiring new customers."
Roughly speaking,
- Advertising
- Advertising appeal development (planning how to sell)
- Creation of videos/images and other creative content
- In-house EC design and function development
- Selling on Amazon, Rakuten Market, and other shopping malls
- New product planning
And more...!
For example, when developing advertising appeal, we come up with ideas for "how to communicate the product to customers in a way that will lead them to purchase," and then create articles, images, and videos.

One example of a successful initiative is the leather sacoche, which is now a popular item on HushTug.

Although the product sold well to existing customers immediately after its release, sales figures continued to stagnate after that.
The sacoche itself was planned and developed in collaboration with the customer, and was an attractive product that maintained a sense of luxury while also focusing on cost-effectiveness, so we were confident that "if we could vividly convey the story behind how this product was made, sales would definitely increase."

We created content based on this idea and ran advertisements , and sales increased to about seven times the original amount, and it is now HushTug's best-selling product .

Number of sacoches sold
This is just one example, but what I wanted to convey is that it is the most interesting and rewarding position where you can greatly increase the sales of the entire company with just your own ideas and measures . (Of course, other work is important and interesting, but I personally think this is serious.)
On the other hand, this is a position in which you will be held responsible if sales do not reach that level, but I would like you to learn these skills one by one to assist me in my work, so it is okay even if you have no experience in marketing-related work !

Also, whether this is an advantage or not may depend on the person, but since there is a lot of personal discretion and you can work on a variety of things, it is recommended for people with a wide range of interests such as marketing, design, and programming!
(※HushTug is looking to strengthen its web design in the future, so we welcome designers who want to learn more about marketing and other aspects of the business!)
02About the workplace

The workplace is a 2-3 minute walk from Otsuka Station on the JR Yamanote Line in Tokyo.
It may not stand out because Ikebukuro Station is next door, but recently the area around the station has seen a lot of development, with many beautiful buildings and commercial facilities, and no shortage of restaurants and other establishments.

Source: Bongo
Bongo, a rice ball shop that is often featured on TV and social media, is also located in Otsuka, just a few steps from the HushTug office. (Although it's hard to get there because the queue is so long from the time it opens...)
*As described below, remote working is possible, however, initially we would prefer to meet in person to hand over work, so we are looking for someone who can commute to Otsuka Station.

In addition, the Ikebukuro showroom introduced at the beginning may also be used for photography and other purposes.

The wood and concrete interior gives it the feel of a stylish coffee stand.

There may be some filming and work done here.
03 About work style

As I mentioned when talking about work, there is a lot of individual discretion and I think it is a workplace with relatively free working style .
We have one fixed day off and one optional day off every week, so you can take days off according to your schedule.
Example: Oishi Closed on Mondays Free days off: 1 day from Tuesday to Sunday
Remote work is also possible if you are familiar with the job and can work alone without any problems.

Also, when you are in the office, you are free to work as you like (without causing a nuisance to those around you). You can dress and work in any way you like.
I wear hoodies or T-shirts 99% of the time, and for the past year or so I've been working from the sofa, never sitting at a desk except for meals and meetings.
04About our employees

(※This is free material, so we don't have any overseas artists who can draw as beautifully as this one. Sorry.)
As of April 2023, the average age of HushTug staff is 28-29 years old. The ratio of men to women is about 4:3.
For this recruitment, we are not particularly restricting the age or gender , but more than anything, we would be delighted to receive applications from people who are attracted to the work and environment at HushTug.
Additionally, HushTug is a fairly small team, with only about seven people including our CEO, Toda, and the part-time workers who work for us.
For example, Nakajima, who is in charge of product development and also appears on HushTug's YouTube channel.

They are knowledgeable about leather and product manufacturing, and they also hear about products from the marketing team, and work together with the team to plan products.
Additionally, Onda is a female employee who is in charge of back office duties such as accounting.

Since we are also in charge of customer returns and exchanges, we often exchange opinions on creating marketing strategies based on the reasons for product returns.
05About the interview

For this recruitment, please first fill in the application form at the bottom of this page.
We will send an email to those who apply, and I (Oishi) or COO Takahashi will speak with them.
At that time, we would like to ask you about your current skills and work-related aspirations, and conversely, we would appreciate you asking us any questions regarding your work.
After that, we confirm the intentions of both parties and have them meet with our representative, Toda, and if there are no issues on either side, they will begin working together.
In addition, since you may have some anxiety about the work and environment before actually starting work, we will first implement a trial period of about three months.

Finally, to be honest, HushTug is still a small brand and cannot compete with well-known companies in terms of benefits or company size.
If you want the status of joining a great company right away, or if you want to work in a nice, stylish, big office right away, this may not be the right fit for you.
However, there are some things you probably won't experience at such well-known companies.
- Promote your business with a great deal of discretion
- This has actually paid off and the company has grown significantly.
It would be difficult to have a lot of discretion and experience the company's growth process at an already large, well-known company.
When the online store opened in April 2019, sales were 64,800 yen, but now sales have grown to more than 600 times that amount.
If you are considering applying, you may be the key person who helps increase sales even further and create a big brand.
I would be delighted if you would apply and we could work together.
The history and current status of HushTug is explained on our official YouTube channel, so if you want to know more about HushTug, please check it out.
