Currently, we have stores in Ikebukuro and Harajuku Omotesando, and we plan to open new stores in other Tokyo areas such as Shinjuku and Ginza in the future.

As a sales associate for our expanding store business, would you like to help HushTug grow into a globally recognized brand?

01What is HushTug?

HushTug is a leather brand that started sales in 2019.

Despite all founding members having no prior experience in apparel, we now operate with 10 full-time employees and have grown to receive approximately 150-200 orders daily.

Although online sales are our primary focus, we opened our Ikebukuro store in 2023, followed by our second store, Harajuku Omotesando, in 2025. We aim to open 2-3 more stores this year.

We are currently growing at a speed that surpasses long-established brands with decades of history, and we plan to further expand our business through online channels and new store openings.


02Job Description


HushTug has grown primarily through online channels until now.

However, from 2026, store operation and expansion will become the core business of the brand.

This shift is based on changes we observed precisely because we grew the brand online.

While the evolution of AI and devices makes online shopping increasingly convenient, there are certain things that cannot be solved by it alone.

That is the fundamental human desire to "see and touch things before choosing." People want to avoid making mistakes when buying expensive items and want to choose important things with confidence.

That desire will not change.

In other words, HushTug's store staff will play a very important role in the future.

HushTug's store staff primarily perform two tasks.

The first is "customer service to recommend products as the face of the brand."

This is likely an easy task to imagine, but there is one significant difference compared to typical apparel brands.

That is, "many customers who visit us have already discovered us online."

Since many customers already understand the products and the brand, the customer service required is not the traditional hard-selling approach, but rather a sincere approach of helping customers solve problems, consulting with them, and assisting them in choosing products.

The second role of HushTug's store staff is "assisting with online customer acquisition."

As mentioned in the customer service section, customers often learn about us online. Store staff don't always interact with customers; during times when there are no visitors, they assist with online customer acquisition.

For example, staff create articles for the web and update social media, performing auxiliary tasks to increase the number of customers visiting the store.

"I don't have any experience with online marketing, so it might be difficult for me."

Some of you might feel that way.

However, we have manuals available, and it's an environment where even beginners who have never used a computer can step up one by one, so there's no need to worry.

Furthermore, there's a reason why we definitely want our store staff to handle tasks other than customer service.

That is "to increase the salaries of store staff."

In general, many brands have low salary levels for in-store customer service positions, and advancement opportunities are often limited.

It may be unavoidable that salaries are difficult to increase when simply selling products within the existing framework of a brand.

That's why we can offer higher salaries to individuals who can also contribute to brand awareness and customer acquisition for the store through online marketing support.

03Required Skills and Experience

When you apply, we will consider various aspects such as your enthusiasm and personality, but HushTug is particularly looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Those with customer service experience

→ We mentioned that hard-selling is not necessary since customers are often already aware of us online. However, customer service experience and a foundation in customer service skills are still invaluable when interacting with customers.

Regardless of industry, this is an environment where you can fully leverage your past experience as a salesperson or store staff.

Furthermore, HushTug is currently in the initial stages of store expansion. We hope you will share your past experiences with other staff and contribute to the growth of HushTug's store business.

  • Those who prefer to think and act independently rather than follow manuals mechanically

→ This applies to both customer service and online customer acquisition support. At HushTug, we believe individuals who enjoy thinking up ideas and implementing them are a better fit than those who simply follow manuals.

For example, in customer service, no two customers have the exact same situation or values, so ideally, you should be able to propose products appropriate to the situation.

Additionally, as HushTug is in the early stages of store expansion, it is crucial for each staff member to proactively improve the stores they are responsible for.

  • Those who resonate with the HushTug brand and its products

→ The HushTug brand emphasizes simplicity and integrity in product planning and sales.

Naturally, you don't have to agree with everything, but since your job involves introducing products to customers, we believe that those who resonate with the brand and its products will be able to recommend them with greater confidence.

 

04Work Style


Work Location

You will primarily be working at:

  • HushTug Harajuku Omotesando store, approx. 8 minutes walk from Harajuku Station (approx. 4 minutes from Meiji-jingumae Station, approx. 9 minutes from Omotesando Station)
  • HushTug Ikebukuro store, approx. 15 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station
  • Future stores (Shinjuku/Ginza, etc.)

You may also be asked to come to the head office in Otsuka occasionally.

Unless you request otherwise, there are currently no plans for transfers or reassignments from existing stores or future stores in central Tokyo.


Workplace Atmosphere

We have 10 full-time employees, with 5 men and 5 women (plus 3 male executives).

We also have 20 contractors and part-time staff (11 men, 9 women), with an average age of about 27.

Employee Interview Notes

While there are rules in our stores to ensure a comfortable experience for customers, we strive to eliminate all other unnecessary stressors in the workplace.

  • Casual attire is allowed (with regulations). *Extremely unique outfits are not permitted.
  • Breaks can be taken freely (depending on the number of people in the store and business hours)
  • Can sit and work when there are no customers
  • No sales quotas or mandatory personal purchases
  • Second Interview

    You will have a second interview with Takahashi, our Vice President.

    We will discuss more detailed information, such as the actual job responsibilities and what we are looking for.
