HushTug is recruiting store staff (full-time employees).

HushTug was founded in 2017 and has grown with the support of many customers, primarily online.

In 2023, we opened the Ikebukuro store, followed by the Harajuku Omotesando store in 2025. Currently, with the store manager at the helm, all office members responsible for product planning and marketing are supporting the front lines, and the "entire brand" is working together to pursue the ideal in-store experience.


With plans for further expansion in Shinjuku and Kichijoji, our next goal is to collaboratively establish "HushTug's standard for in-store experience."

As a valuable partner to the store manager, you will shape the brand's culture from the front lines and lay the groundwork for multi-store expansion.

We are looking for such a key person, who can be called a "second founding member" of our store business.

02Desired Candidate Profile


HushTug store staff are not simply "people who sell products."

They are the embodiment of the brand, encouraging customers who have shown interest online to take the "final step" and providing a satisfying experience.

We view customer service not as a "task," but as a "creative job" that maximizes the store's value.

Therefore, in addition to previous sales experience, we are looking for individuals who can take ownership of the brand's growth.

Required Skills/Experience ・Sales experience (2+ years) in apparel/goods/lifestyle brands, etc.

・Leader/store manager experience (3-5 staff members) (shift management, motivation management, PDCA cycle)
Preferred Skills/Experience ・Sales experience with high-value products or long-lasting items (leather goods, watches, furniture, etc.)

・Experience in staff training or manual creation
Mindset/Skillset for Success ・Those with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoy change and want to create their own "optimal solutions."

・High communication skills to interact with respect across departments.


03Job Responsibilities


HushTug has grown primarily online until now.

However, starting this year, store operations and expansion will become the core business of the brand.

Behind this is a change we noticed precisely because we grew the brand online.

While purchasing experiences online are becoming increasingly convenient due to advancements in AI and devices, there are also things that cannot be resolved solely through online channels.

This is the fundamental human desire to "see and touch before choosing." People don't want to make mistakes when buying expensive items, and they want to choose important things with confidence.

That feeling will remain unchanged.

In other words, HushTug store staff will play a very important role in the future.

HushTug store staff primarily perform two roles.

The first is "customer service, recommending products as the face of the brand."

While this is likely an easily imaginable task, there's one significant difference compared to typical apparel brands.

That is, "many customers who learned about us online visit the store."

Since many customers already understand the products and brand, we need a customer service approach that genuinely helps solve customer problems and provides consultation to help them choose, rather than the traditional aggressive selling.

The second role of HushTug store staff is "assisting with online customer acquisition."

While we touched on online awareness in the customer service duties, store staff are not always interacting with customers. During times when there are no visitors, they will assist with online customer acquisition.

For example, staff will assist in creating articles published online and updating social media to increase the number of customers visiting the store.

"I don't have experience with online customer acquisition, so it might be difficult."

Some of you may feel that way.

However, we provide manuals, and it's strictly an auxiliary task, so there's no need to worry.

Furthermore, there's a reason why we particularly want our store staff to handle tasks beyond customer service.

That is "to increase the salaries of store staff."

Generally, customer service roles in stores tend to have lower salaries, and the path for career advancement is often limited in many brands.

It may be unavoidable that salaries don't increase significantly when only sales are performed, as there is always the brand as a foundation.

That's why we can offer higher salaries to individuals who can also assist with online customer acquisition and contribute to brand awareness and attracting customers to the store.

04Work Style


Work Location

You will primarily work at:

  • HushTug Harajuku Omotesando store, about 8 minutes walk from Harajuku Station (about 4 minutes from Meiji-jingumae Station, about 9 minutes from Omotesando Station)
  • HushTug Ikebukuro store, about 15 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station
  • Future store openings

You may also be asked to commute to the head office in Otsuka irregularly.

Unless requested, there is currently no possibility of relocation or transfer from existing stores or future stores in the metropolitan area.


Workplace Atmosphere

There are 10 full-time employees, consisting of 5 males and 5 females (+ 3 male executives).

There are 20 contractors/part-time employees (11 males, 9 females), with an average age of about 27.

Employee Interview Notes

While there are rules in our stores to ensure a comfortable experience for customers, we aim to create a workplace that thoroughly eliminates unnecessary stress otherwise.

  • Casual dress code OK (with regulations). *We ask for clothing that aligns with the brand concept.
  • Free to take breaks (depending on the number of staff in store and business hours)
  • Can sit and work when there are no customers
  • No sales targets or self-purchases
  • No strenuous physical work required

There are no suffocating hierarchies or internal politics; it's a workplace where everyone is genuinely focused on their skill improvement and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Another difference from other brands is that even store staff have significant discretion in matters such as improving the store and customer service methods.

Also, due to the small number of staff, there are many opportunities for communication with the president, vice president, and head office staff, and store staff's opinions are often adopted.


Days Off

One of HushTug's cultural tenets is "work hard, play hard."

You will have two days off per week, and you are asked to submit your preferred days off for the following week by Thursday of the current week. (Management methods may change with store expansion)

For store staff, shifts are managed by multiple staff members, but you can take days off freely as much as possible after coordinating preferred dates.

While there are no public holidays off, we do have special holidays during Obon and New Year's. (If there is a need to adjust the holidays due to store operations, arrangements will be made.)

Also, all employees have a 100% paid leave utilization rate, so you can freely use your paid leave.

Overtime is never enforced, so almost all employees go home on time every day.

Salary

First year base salary: 300,000 to 400,000 yen + incentives (varies depending on skills and performance)
※ Salary review after 6 months of employment

Salary review: Twice a year (April, October)

Bonus: Once a year (January *Amount varies depending on contribution)
