At HushTug, we have a cherished "definition of customer service."

That is, not just being "a kind store clerk."

Responding politely when a customer calls out is basic "kindness."
However, what we aim for is the "professional" work of anticipating a customer's wishes before they even express them.

We don't have detailed customer service manuals or scripts that tell you "what to say."

This is also a kind of strictness, in that "we entrust all judgment to you."

A "wait-and-see" attitude won't work here.
You must constantly ask yourself "what do they need now" from the customer's gaze, breathing, and subtle movements, and then think and act independently.

Your trainer will be Ms. Hayashi, the store operations manager.
She is a customer service professional who herself joined HushTug, convinced by its transparency, with the belief of "making customers smile through products I genuinely believe in."


Even if you're "anxious because you're inexperienced," don't worry.
Ms. Hayashi, who holds a Semi-First Grade certification in Service Hospitality Management, will carefully teach you HushTug's customer service style.

What's important is not so much skill as a pure desire to "see customers happy" and a willingness to learn.



03What is HushTug?

HushTug

HushTug is a leather brand established in 2019.

All of our founding members had unconventional backgrounds with no prior apparel experience, but thankfully, we have grown to now receive around 150-200 orders daily (90% of which are from our e-commerce site).

Currently, we have two stores, but we plan to expand our honest business nationwide to 15 stores by the end of 2027.

What we aim for is not just an increase in sales.
It is the challenge of "making honest business the norm in Japan."

However, each customer is unique. No two customer interactions are ever the same.

04Job Description


HushTug stores are deliberately located in "hidden gems" such as on the third floor of buildings or in quiet residential areas.

On weekdays, we have about 10 customer groups per day.

That's why we value deep engagement and extended dialogue with each customer.


Having the option "not to sell"

HushTug store staff do not have individual sales quotas.

However, this does not mean "it's okay not to achieve results."
Rather, precisely because there are no clear "numerical" indicators, there is the difficulty of constantly finding your own answer to the profound question of "what constitutes customer satisfaction?"

If we feel that a product doesn't meet a customer's needs, we sometimes even recommend products from other brands.
We choose what's "best" for the customer's future, rather than focusing on immediate sales.

Only those who can consistently follow this honest process will ultimately continue to be chosen by customers.


Learn cutting-edge "brand management" alongside customer service

When there are no customers, you will perform desk work on a company-issued PC.
This isn't just administrative work or "waiting time" until the next customer interaction.

We employ a "D2C (Direct to Consumer)" model where we handle everything from product planning to sales ourselves.


Therefore, store staff are not just "salespeople" but also "operations members" who bring frontline voices back to the brand. You will be responsible for immediately leveraging customer feedback and requests received in-store to improve social media operations and product development.

We provide "time for desk work" because we want you to deeply focus on creative tasks and become a professional who drives the brand from the field.

By continuously balancing "customer service intuition" and "business perspective," you can build market value that will serve you anywhere.


Why we can pay a monthly salary of 300,000 yen

In the apparel industry, a starting salary of 300,000 yen might be considered high.

The reason is that HushTug staff are expected to create high added value in both "customer service" and "web operations."

Because they are professionals who pursue efficient and streamlined work, and can create value themselves, we offer them high salaries in return.

06Work Style

Work Location

You will be assigned to work at our existing Ikebukuro and Harajuku Omotesando stores, or at new stores planned to open in the Tokyo area (most recently Shinjuku/Kichijoji). You may also be required to commute to our Otsuka Station head office irregularly.

Unless requested otherwise, there is currently no possibility of relocation or transfer from existing stores or new stores opening in central Tokyo.


Workplace Atmosphere

While there are rules for customer comfort in our stores, we aim to create a workplace that thoroughly eliminates unnecessary stress outside of these rules.

  • Casual attire is acceptable (with regulations). *Please wear clothing that aligns with the brand concept.
  • No mandatory purchase of products
  • No heavy lifting (work is primarily intellectual)

There are no suffocating hierarchies or internal politics; everyone in the workplace is genuinely focused on their skill development and improving customer satisfaction.

Even store staff have significant discretion, such as providing opinions on store improvements and customer service methods, which is a differentiating factor from other brands.

Additionally, due to the small team size, there are frequent opportunities for communication with the president, vice president, and head office staff, and the opinions of store staff are often adopted.

HushTug is currently operated by 10 full-time employees (5 male, 5 female) plus 3 male executives.

The average age of full-time employees is 27, making it a relatively young organization.

In addition, there are 20 contracted and part-time members (10 male, 10 female), with a team of approximately 35 people supporting HushTug.

About Holidays

One of HushTug's cultural pillars is "rest thoroughly when you rest."

We have a complete two-day weekend system, and employees submit their preferred holiday dates for the following week by Thursday of the previous week. (Management methods may change with store expansion.)

For store staff, shifts are managed by multiple staff members, but holidays can be taken as freely as possible after coordinating preferred dates.

Although there are no national holidays, there are special holidays (totaling about 15 days last year) during Obon and year-end/New Year. (These may be adjusted with store operating hours.)

Also, the paid leave utilization rate is 100% for all employees, so it can be easily used.

Overtime is never enforced, so all employees return home almost every day on time.

Let's rest thoroughly when it's time to rest and maximize performance during working hours.


Career Advancement

HushTug creates an environment where employees can advance their careers and fully supports their desire to take on challenges.

Evaluation System

At HushTug, we conduct salary reviews and evaluations twice a year.

New employees also have an additional salary review after six months of employment.

While we cannot guarantee a salary increase, currently, all employees have achieved a pay raise.

Of course, achieving results leads to high evaluations, but we also fairly evaluate daily efforts and processes.

In fact, one employee, after significantly contributing to the company, saw their base salary increase by over 100,000 yen after one year of employment.

While regular 1-on-1s are not scheduled, meetings with your supervisor are available upon request at any time.
