What's the unexpected way a 28-year-old office worker with a penchant for simplicity uses her drawstring leather bag?

How does a 28-year-old office worker who loves simplicity
use her "drawstring leather bag" in an unexpected way?

Hi there! I'm K, 28 years old, working at an advertising agency in Tokyo.

I'm a very ordinary office worker who goes to the office on weekdays and spends weekends dining with friends or engrossed in hobbies all day.

On such weekends, my belongings are just my smartphone, wallet, keys, and earphones.

Despite that, I used to carry them around in the same tote bag I use on weekdays.

I like simple clothes, so I prefer bags that aren't cluttered.

But I don't want to carry the same bag as everyone else. I'm a bit selfish, aren't I? (laughs)

Because of that, I couldn't find a bag I liked, so I just kept using my weekday bag.

Finally found it! A simple yet unique bag

That's when I accidentally saw an ad for a "drawstring leather bag" from a leather brand called HushTug.

I was drawn to its uncommon silhouette, being a drawstring shape made of genuine leather.

Its shape is distinctive and unlikely to be seen on others, yet the design is simple. It's plain, and the logo is only on the back.

The size was just right, and at 19,800 yen, the price was affordable, so I decided to buy it.

When it arrived and I touched it, the leather was soft and had a more luxurious feel than I expected.

Another small detail I like is the matte black hardware at the base of the handle.

I considered other brands, but their hardware was silver or gold, which felt a bit too flashy.

Since I like simple clothes, this understated black suited me best.

An unexpected use I discovered after buying it

I noticed this after I bought it, but you can hang various things on the handle of this bag.

What I often do these days is thread my key case or earphone case through the handle.
(*The key case in the photo above is not a HushTug product.)

Small items that tend to get lost in the bag can be retrieved quickly, which is surprisingly convenient.

Sometimes I also hang a pouch wallet as a wallet.

If I'm a little concerned about leaving it outside, I just need to hook it facing inwards, which is easy and recommended.

Why I, who usually buys in stores, could confidently purchase online

I'm someone who usually prefers to see bags and clothes in person at a store before buying them.

So, I was frankly anxious about buying a genuine leather bag online.

However, when I looked at the product page, there were over 800 reviews, and the ratings were high.

Over 16,000 units had been sold, so I thought it would probably be fine.

Also, the price was so low that it made me anxious.

I wondered if there was some catch to a genuine leather bag costing 19,800 yen.

But when I looked into it, it turns out they sell directly themselves, without going through stores or wholesalers, which allows for this price.

The product page even published the manufacturing cost, so I felt it was a trustworthy brand.

Most reassuring of all was that returns and exchanges are free for 30 days.

Knowing this, even if I couldn't see the actual item, I figured I could just return it if it didn't suit me, so I bought it half-heartedly, as if trying it out.

For those who carry few items on their days off and want to carry something nice

I think bags can be difficult for people who carry few items. Big ones are too much, and small ones tend to be too casual.

In the end, you just end up using your usual tote bag.

But since I started using this "drawstring leather bag," I no longer hesitate about what to carry on my days off.

Even small, it looks good and is unique.

Precisely because I carry so few items, I carry one nice thing.

Just doing that slightly improves my mood on days off.

If you're like me before, still using your usual bag because you can't find the right one, please feel free to give this a try.
