The sample vertical body bag has been completed!

Hello! This is HushTug!

This time, we've completed a new sample called the "Vertical Body Bag" from Nakamura Kikaku.

HushTug currently offers horizontal body bags, but this time we're challenging ourselves with a new vertical form factor.

In this article, we'll delve into the development process, design particularities, and storage capacity.

Reason for development

As a new alternative to the horizontal type

HushTug currently has:

• Body bag
• Curved body bag

There are two types.

Since both have a horizontal form, the idea was to:

"Add a vertical body bag to our lineup."

This led to the start of this development.

When worn, the back forms a vertical line, allowing for a different impression compared to existing models.

Key Features

Size determined by survey

The size of this model was designed based on a follower survey conducted on Instagram.

• Tall type

• Slightly shorter type

Comparing the two options, the shorter balance was more popular, so we decided on the current size.

One of the characteristics of this model is that it was designed based on user feedback.

Two-compartment storage design

The storage features a two-compartment structure for easy organization.

• Main compartment

• Front pocket

By separating these, small items can be organized more easily.

In addition, the front pocket is designed to be inconspicuous from the outside, maintaining a minimalist appearance while ensuring storage capacity.

Compatible with both left and right-handed wear

There's a preference between wearing vertical body bags on the right or left.

Therefore, this model features:

• Detachable shoulder strap bottom

• Interchangeable for left or right side

This specification.

You can adjust it according to your dominant hand or usage style.

Detachable key ring

A key ring is placed inside the front pocket.

• Detachable

• Can be swapped to either side

This design allows it to be used according to the shoulder strap's direction.

※However, we are considering discontinuing it in the second sample.

Enhanced comfort with back mesh

Mesh material is used on the back.

While previous models were entirely leather, this time we focused on:

• Improved breathability

• Comfort during long periods of use

The design prioritizes these aspects.

• Depth: approx. 9cm

• Main compartment: approx. 1.5L

• Front pocket: approx. 0.5L

• Total: approx. 2L

Despite its compact size, it's designed to hold your daily essentials.

The opening is a bit compact, but it's intended for storing essential small items.

Main Compartment

• Bi-fold wallet

• Compact pouch

• Slim card case

With ample depth, the silhouette is less likely to collapse even when items are stacked.

Storing a long wallet

A round-zip wallet fits perfectly.

However,

• Larger long wallets

• Thicker wallets

may be difficult to store.

※We are also considering height adjustment for the second sample.

Expandability with D-rings

D-rings are placed at the base of the shoulder strap.

• Carabiners

• Keychains

• Small accessories

are intended to be freely attachable.

Current Completion Level and Future Improvement Plans

The evaluation for this first sample is:

Completion Level: 50 points

This is a deliberately strict self-assessment.

Main improvements currently under consideration:

• Reduction of silver hardware

• Consideration of replacement with aluminum parts

• Review of key ring specifications

• Fine-tuning of storage balance

We plan to further enhance the completeness with the second sample.
