We have completed the final sample of the mini Boston bag we are developing for women, so we would like to present an overview of the project's background and key features.

Despite its compact appearance, the bag is designed to offer storage capacity suitable for daily use and maintain a beautiful silhouette.

Reason for development: Balancing appearance and practicality

In recent years, smaller shoulder bags have become popular. While their cuteness is appealing, they can sometimes be impractical in terms of storage.

For example, there are situations where "only a minimal amount of items fit, requiring a sub-bag" or "it's difficult to put things in and take them out, making it impractical for daily use."

Therefore, we focused on the classic and popular Boston bag style as a way to achieve both "cuteness" and "practicality with ample storage."

The Boston bag's structure inherently allows for ample storage. We aimed for a size that appears small but can comfortably hold everyday essentials.

Feature ①: Structural design to maintain a rounded shape

The difficulty with mini Boston bags lies in maintaining their beautiful rounded shape.

If the structure is weak, it can easily lose its shape, significantly altering its appearance.

Especially with Boston bags, any deformation is readily visible.

For this sample, we thoroughly examined the placement and insertion of core materials, making repeated adjustments in consultation with artisans.

We have made improvements since the first sample and reworked the samples multiple times to achieve the current shape.

Feature ②: Using a panel design to create a three-dimensional effect

We incorporated panels into the main body to prevent the bag from looking flat.

While keeping the design simple, by creating lines that connect to the shoulder strap attachment and handle area, we achieved a natural three-dimensional effect and character.

Furthermore, we considered not only design but also manufacturing aspects, incorporating the artisans' workability into the current specifications.

Feature ③: Hardware selected for both "necessity" and "cost"

Since this model uses a lot of hardware, we spent a lot of time selecting it.

As increasing the amount of hardware impacts costs,

We considered each piece from these perspectives.

For the shoulder strap attachment and other parts, we tried multiple patterns and adopted specifications that blend well with the rounded form.

We emphasized not only a unified appearance but also ensuring no discomfort when using the bag.

Material: Using smooth-leaning leather

The leather used is different from HushTug's standard oil-rich leather; we chose one with a smoother texture.

This material better showcases the rounded form and lends itself to the elegant look desired for women's bags.

Its subdued appearance allows the hardware and panel designs to blend in naturally.

Additionally, since it is the same leather as our quilted bags, it is easier to consider it as a set with other items that have a consistent texture.

The material selection also makes it easy to envision a series expansion, as it creates a sense of unity when bags are displayed together.

One of the goals is to minimize variations during mass production and ensure product consistency by perfecting the sample as much as possible.
