[HushTug] The first sample of the 2-way square bag is complete!

Hello, I'm Nakajima, the designer of HushTug.

This time we have completed a new sample, so we would like to introduce it to you.

This sample is the first sample.

The silhouette is similar to a square business bag, but the design and feel incorporate some first-time attempts by HushTug.

Introducing the sample

First, here is the finished sample. The shape is similar to a square business bag, but it has a sturdy gusset and a more solid feel.

As a first for HushTug, this bag is a 2-way design .

It is designed so that you can carry it by hand or attach a shoulder strap to wear it over your shoulder.

We received many comments on YouTube asking people to make a square business bag, and in particular many people wanting a 2-way type , so we decided to make a prototype.

Size Comparison

Let's compare the size of the square business bag with this sample.

It is about one size smaller and slightly more compact in height and width.

However, it is designed to be large enough to hold a 13-inch PC or A4 files .

Our previous square business bag was not designed as a 2-way bag because it was designed for business use. The reasons for this were:

If you use it as a 2-way business bag, it may lose its appearance.
If you attach a shoulder belt, there is a high risk of the base breaking.

However, in this sample, by controlling the volume and adding reinforcement, we were able to ensure durability even when the shoulder strap was attached .

This bag is also designed to be used in casual situations , so it is 2-way.

Shoulder strap design

When you remove the shoulder strap, it has a business-like design similar to the square business bag.

However, it is also designed to go well with casual outfits , such as for everyday outings or a set-up style.

The idea is to basically carry it in your hand, and use the shoulder strap when your luggage gets heavy or when traveling by train.

In addition, the handles are short and recessed so that they do not get in the way when the bag is carried on the shoulder.

This bag is not designed to be worn diagonally across the body, but rather slung lightly over the shoulder while taking a break .

Design changes

Based on feedback from the Square Business Bag, we made the following changes to this sample:

Added a magnetic fastener We received a lot of feedback that "we wanted a magnet" for the square business bag, so we've added a magnet to this sample. However, it's a little short in length, so we plan to add a little more room in the second sample.
Accent zipper added to the exterior If you like a simple design, you can also wear it with the exterior turned upside down. For ease of use, we are considering adding a zipper pocket to the interior .
Shoulder Strap Material The shoulder strap is made of a thick, glossy polyester material . We've taken care to make sure it doesn't look cheap. We've taken care to avoid a flimsy impression, and the design does not lose its sense of luxury.

Interior Design

The interior pocket configuration is as follows:

1 zipper pocket Because there is a zipper on the outside, the interior zipper pocket is only on one side. This allows you to easily put things in and take them out without interfering with the outer pocket .
Adjusting the lining The lining of the first sample was a little too loose , so we plan to adjust it to a sleeker design for the second sample. We are also considering adding a bottom panel, which was used on the square business bag.

Try storing it

13-inch PC → Can be stored. However, we are considering adjusting the size as it interferes with the magnet part.
Long wallet (round zipper type) → It won't fit sideways, but it can be stored vertically. → I plan to adjust the depth of the pocket .
500ml plastic bottle, folding umbrella → Can be stored without any problems
Designed to hide contents from view → The gusset is designed to be 1 to 1.5 cm lower so that contents cannot be seen from the front of the bag.

This time, we introduced the first sample of the new 2WAY square bag . Because it is the first sample, we plan to use it in practice to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments in the second sample .
