We interviewed the HushTug staff about their favorite items and the time they spent with them.
This time, Mr. Suzuki, the CEO of D.bell Co., Ltd., who actually makes HushTug bags, shared with us the real appeal of the body bag he has been using and nurturing himself, and his affection for leather products.
── Why did you buy (start using) it?
"I wanted to thoroughly test the samples I made myself."
I am usually involved in development work, bringing new products into shape.
This body bag was one of the very first samples, the second or third product that came out, right after development started.
When creating a new bag, it's essential to test its durability and usability.
When I held this prototype in my hands, I felt confident that "with the current reinforcement specifications, there should be no problems."
That's when I started carrying it around myself every day and testing its usability.
Before I knew it, I had been using it for about two years now.
── How do you usually use it?
I deliberately take it everywhere with me, using it roughly and carelessly.
Partly to check the product's durability, I intentionally use it roughly and toughly, both outdoors and anywhere else (laughs).
I only put my wallet and the absolute bare minimum of items in it.
This bag is designed to be the perfect size for those "absolute bare minimum" items.
As I used it more, the unique "flavor" of the leather emerged, and a beautiful sheen developed all over it.
The greatest joy of nurturing this bag is being able to genuinely experience the aging process, including scratches and wrinkles, which are all part of the leather's character, every day.
── Tell us about your favorite features.
The fit and ease of use are so good that I can drive while wearing it.
With typical bags, they might swing around with the vibrations of walking or get in the way when you get into a vehicle.
However, this is a body bag that hugs your body snugly, so it offers excellent stability.
I often drive, and surprisingly, I can sit in the seat and drive with this bag still on.
There's no hassle of having to take the bag off in the car and put it on the passenger seat.
It blends seamlessly into all my daily activities, and now it's the most convenient, indispensable bag for me.
