The 1st sample of the soft mini Boston bag is complete!
Hello! We are Nakashima and Nakamura, Hashtag designers.
This time, we will be introducing the first sample of our new "Soft Mini Boston Bag."
In this article, we will introduce the background of the sample's development, the product planner's favorite points, and its actual storage capacity.

Development Background
Hashtag currently offers the structured "Boston Bag" and "Mini Boston Bag."
However, after receiving requests from customers for "a soft boston bag with a relaxed feel," the development of the "Soft Mini Boston Bag" began.
This product directly reflects customer feedback.
Soft Mini Boston Bag's Unique Features
The most important feature is the "material."
By softening the leather used in existing Boston bags and reducing its thickness to 1.5mm, we achieved a high-quality feel and significant weight reduction.
Additionally, we adopted a unique design that uses metal fittings on both sides to create a casual trapezoidal form.
This not only enhances the design but also offers the practical benefit of allowing the opening to be wide open.
It also comes with a shoulder strap.
The smart design ensures that the metal fittings on the main body do not get in the way when the included shoulder strap is not in use.
Size and Capacity
The dimensions are "39cm width × 26cm height × 19cm depth."
Although it is designed to be more compact in appearance than existing mini boston bags, it secures a capacity of approximately 20L.
Compared to the mini boston bag (18L), it has a large capacity design that can hold an additional 2L of luggage.
Actual Storage Capacity Test
The internal storage is also designed to be highly functional.
Inside, it is equipped with "three flat pockets" convenient for organizing small items such as card cases and mobile batteries.
It also has a wide "zipper pocket" that can easily accommodate a long wallet.
The main storage space can securely hold bulky items such as two bags of clothes, a小物ポーチ (small pouch), a 500ml plastic bottle, and a jacket.
Furthermore, by removing the clasps on both sides, it also has the expandability to secure an additional 1-2L of space.
Since the leather is soft, it naturally conforms even when items are placed inside.
Current Completeness and Future Improvements
The designer's self-assessment at this stage is a rather strict "60 points."
Further improvements are planned for further refinement, including the following:

Opening Improvement: The folded parts on both sides will be made longer to allow the opening to open wider.

Hardware Change: The currently prominent silver hardware will be reduced, and replaced with black aluminum carabiners and black zippers.
This will minimize the prominence of the hardware, resulting in a simpler and more refined design.
Summary
This time, we introduced the behind-the-scenes development and the unique storage capacity of Hashtag's new sample, the "Soft Mini Boston."
Born from customers' requests for "a bag like this," it is a confident product that achieves "softness," "lightness," and a "large capacity" of 20L, which are not found in existing Boston bags.
From here, we will make changes to the hardware and improve the opening to further refine it into a sophisticated and user-friendly design.
