We are looking for artisans and workshop partners with our own workshops.

HushTug is looking for artisans and workshop partners who have their own workshops and can actually make bags.

We want to preserve true Made in Japan quality for the future by working with people who can make things with their own hands, rather than through intermediaries.

We are currently recruiting for a production workshop that mainly produces genuine leather products, but we are also open to manufacturing with other materials.

If you are a workshop that shares our philosophy and conditions, please contact us using the application form at the bottom of this page.

What is HushTug?

HushTug is a men's leather brand founded in 2018.

When we first started, we set up our own factory in Mongolia, employed local craftsmen, produced Mongolian leather products, and sold them in Japan, but we decided to withdraw from Mongolia due to reasons such as COVID-19, the weak yen, and the war in Ukraine.

We then moved all of our production bases to Japan, and currently outsource production to three domestic factories.

Witnessing the lack of successors facing the Japanese leather industry and the problem of work being lost overseas, we began to think about how we could help boost Japan's leather industry in any way we could, so that the wonderful techniques of the Japanese leather industry would not be lost and would be passed on to future generations.

For this reason, HushTug is committed to tanning and sewing almost all of its products domestically.

Read the detailed founding story here.

Why do we need craftsmen?

As Japan's craftsmen age, the unique bag-making techniques that have been passed down through the generations are being lost. Meanwhile, despite a temporary increase in overseas production, rising prices overseas in recent years are expected to once again increase the need for domestic production in Japan. As a result, competition among domestic workshops for limited work is likely to intensify.

Furthermore, even when products are said to be "sewn in Japan," in reality, many processes are carried out by foreigners residing in Japan, and there are cases where the quality is unstable because the manufacturer does not understand manufacturing. This current situation has led to a renewed question of "what is truly Made in Japan?"

HushTug is taking on this challenge and, together with artisans who have their own workshops and can create bags with their own hands, we hope to protect Japanese technology and pass it on to the future.

Recruiting partner factories

At HushTug, we are continually looking for factories to manufacture our products.

To prevent mismatches, we have listed below the characteristics of factories we would like to partner with.

After checking the details, please apply for partnership using the application form at the bottom of this page. We will respond within 3 business days.

Factories that HushTug would like to partner with

  • Sewing is done at a base in Japan (the nationality of the craftsmen is not an issue)
  • Manufactures bags, purses, wallets, and other small items
  • We are proud to manufacture products that meet the world-class Japanese quality standards, including high-quality stitching and excellent durability.
  • Smooth communication is possible
  • We look forward to working with you every day to develop even higher quality products.
  • You can empathize with HushTug's philosophy of "boosting the Japanese leather industry"

Factories that HushTug will refuse to partner with

  • Sewing is not done in Japan (e.g., some manufacturing processes are outsourced overseas)
  • The quality of the products, such as stitching and durability, does not take pride in Japan quality.
  • Unable to communicate smoothly (taking more than 3 days to reply, etc.)
  • I don't agree with HushTug's philosophy of "boosting the Japanese leather industry."

That's all.

Please confirm the above and submit your application using the form below.

I hope to connect with wonderful people at factories.
