[HushTug] The first sample of the flap shoulder bag is complete!
Hello! I'm Nakajima, the designer of HushTug.
This time, we have a new sample that we would like to introduce.
The sample we created this time is a mini shoulder bag .
We have previously introduced a shoulder bag with a flap, and this is a different version of that.
So let's get started with the introduction.
Introducing the completed sample
Here is the completed sample.
A distinctive feature of this bag is that it is a shoulder bag with a flap .
The first sample of the shoulder bag sold by HushTug had a design with a flap, but the final specifications were changed to a design that eliminated the flap.
This time it is the version with a flap .
The size is close to a square, but we paid particular attention to the angle of the flap and other fine details, making repeated adjustments in 3cm increments.
The result is a very well-balanced design.
There is also a zippered pocket on the back where you can store a smartphone, etc.
A distinctive feature of this sample is the use of matte black metal fittings .
This metal fitting is used on parts called D-rings and on removable rotating parts called snap hooks .
The shoulder straps are made of polyester tape.
It is made from the same material as the straps of the "2-way Square Bag" that we introduced in our previous sample article, and is thick and sturdy.

It is approximately 38mm wide (just under 4cm) and uses a length-adjustable loop-type metal fitting, so it can be freely adjusted to fit people of all heights.
The overall design is based on black , making it easy to match with a variety of fashion styles.
Interior and storage
Next, I'll introduce you to the inside construction.
First of all, the zipper pocket on the back can easily store your smartphone .
The opening and closing of the bag is equipped with a magnet , allowing it to be securely fastened in place.
The interior is lined with the same polyester material called "Siesta" as the curved body bag .
It has a black lining, giving it a calm impression.
The interior also features a standard pocket known as a "flat pocket."
Additionally, the bag features the brand logo on the back.
Next we'll test the storage capacity.

Even when stored, the bag's silhouette remains neat and tidy.
What has been improved?
While using this sample, we found some areas for improvement, which we will introduce here.
1. Change in plating method for metal fittings
This time, we have used new metal fittings with a matte black plating.
While typical silver and gold plating is done by immersing the metal fittings in liquid, this black plating method involves rotating the metal fittings together with a powdered substance while plating.
However, it was discovered that the metal fittings were prone to peeling off when they came into contact with each other.
In particular, the plating has come off where the D-ring and the snap hook come into contact, which detracts from the luxurious feel, so we plan to change the structure to avoid contact between the metal fittings.
For example, we are considering ways to prevent metal fittings from interfering with each other by sandwiching leather between them .
2. Adjusting the size
The current design is close to a square in shape, but we plan to extend the vertical length by about 2-3cm and change the shape to something closer to a rectangle.
The shape of the flap and the construction of the gusset are nicely finished, so this part will remain as is.
3. Change in interior logo position
When I opened the flap, I found that the brand logo on the interior got caught when trying to put something in or take something out.
For this reason, we plan to change the position of the logo and embroider it into the edge of the bag .
This reduces stress when storing and makes it more comfortable to use.

The mini shoulder bag sample this time turned out to be extremely good in terms of both design and functionality, however, we also found some areas for improvement.
We would like to correct these issues and make the product easier to use.
