Our leather totes have been popular since the brand's inception, and we are grateful to have so many customers purchase them.
As a result, we also receive many inquiries from people who feel uneasy before purchasing.
HushTug has physical stores where you can see the actual products, but we understand that many people live far away and cannot visit.

FAQ ①: Why don't you add bottom studs or outer pockets?
To answer directly, HushTug totes do not have bottom studs or outer pockets.
The reason is that HushTug's concept is "ultimate simplicity."
If we only considered practicality, there might be situations where outer pockets and bottom studs would be convenient.
However, we deliberately stripped away unnecessary elements, resulting in the current design.
◎ Another reason for not adding bottom studs 
Bottom studs have the advantage of keeping the bottom cleaner and less prone to damage.
However, depending on the bag, bottom studs may not function adequately.

If the bottom of the bag is soft

If the "legs" of the bottom studs are short
In such cases, as the leather softens with use, the leather will sag below the bottom studs.
As a result, the leather may still rub even with bottom studs.
In other words, to ensure the effectiveness of bottom studs, the following conditions are necessary:

The bottom must be sufficiently rigid

The legs of the bottom studs must be long (large)
Considering these points, HushTug does not include bottom studs to prioritize a simple aesthetic.
FAQ ②: Does it stand upright indefinitely?
This is another frequently asked question, and the answer is:
It does not stand upright indefinitely.
Since we use natural leather, the leather will soften and become more supple with use.
Therefore, the "firmly self-standing condition" you observe when first purchased may change over time.
◎ Tips for maintaining its self-standing ability longer 
If you want to keep it standing upright for as long as possible, try these two things:

Remove heavy items after use

Store the bag by hanging it
Leaving heavy items inside will put a strain on the leather and cause it to soften faster.
By minimizing the strain, you can help maintain its condition for longer.
FAQ ③: Is the zipper hard to close?
When new, the leather near the zipper hasn't softened yet, so you might find it a bit difficult to close.
However, as you use it, the leather will soften, and it will gradually become easier to close.

◎ Tips for making the zipper easier to close 
The zipper on the leather tote has been designed with features to ensure smooth opening and closing.
The key is the leather tab near the pull tab.
By pulling this part, the zipper slightly elevates, making it designed to be angled slightly upwards instead of downwards.
As a result, it glides better and feels easier to close.
When closing the zipper, it's recommended to gently pull the tab while zipping.
FAQ ④: The handle seems thin, won't it tear?
This is another frequent question, but the conclusion is that it is designed to be much stronger than it looks.
While the handle may appear thin, reinforcement material is inserted inside, making it resistant to tearing.

FAQ ⑤: How much can it hold in terms of PCs and documents?
While storage is introduced in a separate video, this time I will focus on the size of PCs and documents, which are frequently asked questions.
◎ PC storage size guidelines
The recommended size is 13 inches, but it can just barely fit a 15-inch laptop.
However, since PC sizes vary by model, please use the following measurements as a guide:

The Inside Story of How the Leather Tote Was Made
Now, a little behind-the-scenes story about how the leather tote was made.
When HushTug was first launched, there was actually no one in the company with experience in the apparel or bag industry.
Naturally, we didn't know how to make bags.
Nevertheless, driven by the desire to "create a brand," we established our own workshop and proceeded with production at that time.
We didn't know how to make bags... What did we do? 
Bags require sewing, so if you don't know how to make them, they won't be completed.
The solution we came up with after much deliberation was to disassemble existing bags and learn from them.
And at that time, we disassembled a high-end tote bag worth about 100,000 yen that the representative owned and studied its structure.
He said, "It's fine if it's for making things," but I remember he looked a little sad.
We learned in this way, made numerous improvements, and finally arrived at the current leather tote.
Now, as a designer, I commission Japanese craftsmen to produce our items, but looking back at the early days of the company, I'm amazed at how far we've come with that method.
