This time, we asked our staff member Nakajima about his favorite leather backpack.

Difference from new products

(Leather backpack / Used for about 1.5 years)

I've been using this leather backpack since the crowdfunding campaign for the leather backpack ended, so it's an early model!

Leather backpacks these days don't have suede linings, but a smooth lining, which I personally prefer to suede.

The biggest difference compared to a new backpack is the luster and softness that comes from the leather becoming more worn in.

As for the luster, the unique luster of genuine leather will emerge as you use it, and the luster will increase even more if you take care of it with oil.
The frequency of care is once every one and a half months.

When HushTug products are new, the leather is not yet broken in and is very stiff.

In particular, when the shoulder straps were new, the leather was still stiff and would twist when putting the bag on, but as the leather became more comfortable they gradually became softer and easier to wear.

If you have just received it, we recommend you use it a lot!

In what situations do you use it?

At HushTug, I can wear whatever I want to work, so I use it for work and on my days off. Even when I go to work, I usually wear casual clothes, so the leather backpack is very convenient and I use it almost every day at work.

There was a surprising amount of small luggage.

I used to use a black leather tote when going to work, but as you can see, I had a lot of stuff in it, so it put a lot of strain on one shoulder, so I had to regularly switch the shoulder I used to carry it on.

Since I switched to a backpack, I carry it on both shoulders, so even if I have the same amount of luggage, the backpack feels lighter and it's much easier. I highly recommend it for people who have a lot of luggage!

What is your favorite part?

What's great about it is that it's light even though it's made of full leather.
Genuine leather items tend to be perceived as quite heavy. HushTug leather in particular is "durable and hard," which makes it look even heavier.

When you actually hold it, it is lighter than you would imagine, and customers who pick it up for the first time in the showroom often remark, "It's surprisingly light."

Another thing is that it has a lot of storage space.
I think the leather backpack is the product with the most storage space among HushTug's products.

I have a lot of small items such as a coin purse, business card holder, and card case, so it's very helpful to have lots of storage space.
The leather backpack has 2 inner pockets and 2 outer pockets, for a total of 4 pockets (excluding the PC pocket).

The outer pocket on the back is especially useful.
I use this pocket to store things that I don't want to put in my clothes pockets but want to have quick access to.

For example, it is very convenient because you can put your house keys or card case in it and take them out while still wearing the backpack.

It's also great that it can't be seen from the outside when you're carrying it, so it's safe from theft!
