[HushTug] Introducing leather care items carefully selected by bag designers!
Hello, I'm Nakajima, the designer at HushTug.
Today, I'll be introducing some leather care products you can use at home.
While these leather care products are displayed at our Ikebukuro main store, they are not available for purchase there.
I'll also include reference products that can be purchased online, so please be sure to check them out.
1. Horsehair Brush
Purpose: A soft horsehair brush for use on bags and shoes.
Features: Ideal for removing dust and dirt from bags. Can also be used on shoes, but primarily for bag care.
How to use: Simply brush the surface for care.
2. Delicate Cream
/Purpose: For use on dry leather.
Features: A light oil that prevents sliminess and stains. Can also be used on the vegetable-tanned leather of HushTug leather products and accessories.
Caution: When using on vegetable-tanned leather, apply sparingly as over-application can cause stains.
3. Aniline Cream (for vegetable-tanned leather)
Purpose: For use on smooth leather with minimal texture (calf leather).
Features: A cream suitable for smooth surfaces, preventing leather from drying out. Ideal for leather types with minimal surface texture.
4. Protection Cream (for Cordovan)
Purpose: Ideal for shell cordovan, which contains a lot of oil.
Features: Using it on cordovan leather, which easily absorbs water, prevents drying and lifting of fibers.
How to use: Gently apply the cream along the grain to flatten the fibers.
5. Stain Cleansing Water (for dirt removal)
Purpose: A cleanser for removing dirt from leather surfaces (especially chrome-tanned leather).
Features: Use on parts that easily get dirty from hand oils and sweat, such as bag handles. Especially effective in summer with monthly use.
How to use: Use a small amount to gently wipe off dirty areas.
Caution: Can easily cause stains if used on vegetable-tanned leather or other tannin-based leathers
6. Color Restoring Cream (for color replenishment)
Purpose: A cream to replenish color in scuffed areas of bags.
Features: Easily used on black leather, but color adjustment is needed for navy and grey.
How to use: Adjust to the color being used and apply to the scuffed areas.
7. Waterproof Spray (Collilon-made)
Purpose: Waterproof spray for shoes and bags.
Features: Can be used on a wide range of leather products, but waterproof sprays specifically for shoes are not suitable for bags.
How to use: Spray evenly on bags and jackets.
