Hello, I'm Nakajima, the designer of HushTug.
This time we have a new sample that we would like to introduce to you.
The completed product this time is a coin purse .

In this article, we will introduce the product design, its capacity, and detailed specifications.
If you're interested, please watch until the end.
Introducing the sample
First, here is the completed sample.

This is a coin purse with a clasp closure.
With a purse type bag, the metal part generally has a knob, but this bag uses metal fittings without a knob.
Since there are no knobs, I think it has a very neat design.
About the material
The leather used is the same gloss leather as the drawstring leather bag.

It has a soft and moist texture that feels good in your hand.
Originally, our request for the first sample was, "Can the lining be made out of leather as well?" However, if we used leather, there was a risk that it would tear due to its thickness and the strain it would put on the parts that come into contact with the knob, so this time we decided to make the lining out of a different material.

The fabric used is a material called " shantung ," which is also used for the back of wallet card holders.
For the second sample, I am thinking of finding a lining that is a bit more luxurious to use.
The inside of the wallet gets dirty easily when you put coins in it, so I think it needs to be improved, such as by changing the lining so that dirt is less noticeable.
About the design

It has a design without a knob , and when you hold the metal part and the main body and push it, it opens as shown below.

It is designed to stop with a “snap”.
The design and size are very neat and I feel it is very well made.
There are very few craftsmen who can make purses, so it was said that it might not be possible to make them.
The idea had been floated for some time, but we had carefully considered the fact that it would be difficult to make and the hinges would be prone to breaking.
In the future, we would like to verify the strength and durability of the metal fittings and then aim to commercialize the product.
Try it out
Let's actually put some coins in it.
Although it doesn't have a gusset, it has a surprisingly large capacity.

This time there are 15 coins.
Even when closed, it doesn't bulge out and packs down compactly.

It's palm-sized and fits comfortably in your hand, and it doesn't bulge even when you put it in your pocket.
The coins are neatly arranged, making it easy to take them out and use them to pay.

I think it's easy to use even without the gusset.
Personally, I think this type of sleek design is great as it doesn't take up much space.
If I had to say something, I would say that it would have been nice if it had some dividers, but thanks to its simplicity and lack of unnecessary additions, it opens wide and is easy to use.
I would like to try using it for about a month to verify that there are no inconveniences before commercializing it.
So it looks like it will be a while before it goes on sale.
Thoughts about coin purses

I previously introduced this bi-fold wallet on YouTube, but it didn't have a coin purse, so I thought I needed to make a new coin purse.
As the first step , we would like to release the " clasp purse type " that we are introducing today.
It looks neat and the finish is pretty good.
There is also another type that we prototyped as part of the coin purse project.
This is shaped like a pouch, and the lining can be made of leather, so the inside is also lined with leather.
It has a black zipper and although it is small in size, it has a sturdy gusset and plenty of capacity.
However, the downside is that when you put coins in it, it becomes taller than you would expect, so the coins end up piling up at the bottom.
It's a bit of a hassle to take it out, so I plan to improve it by reducing the height.
The design is somewhat square and rectangular, so we are considering making changes such as making it a bit more rounded.
The size is easy to carry and I thought a coin purse of this size would be good, so I made two patterns.
In terms of design, the clasp purse is more sophisticated and is my personal preference.
The other type is more affordable and is aimed at those who want to carry a coin purse at an affordable price.
I feel this is easier to use.
The great thing about this product is that it is so compact, it's easy to carry and fits easily into a small bag.
In addition, since small items this size can be made using scraps of leather that have been cut up from bags and other items, we are also considering creating a variety of colors .
I think it would be nice to have some accent colors other than black.
In the future, we would like to strengthen our production of coin purses while considering other designs.
summary
What did you think?
This time we introduced a clasp-type coin purse.
It's palm-sized, has a thin gusset, and isn't bulky, so I think it's easy to use.
Although the opportunities to use cash are decreasing, there are still times when you need coins, such as in stores that don't accept cards or when buying drinks from vending machines.
I think having one of these smart and compact coin purses would be very useful.
Please look forward to future products.
