Coronavirus infection prevention measures in Mongolia!

Hello!

This is a HushTug Hariuner.

Since around mid-February, things have been hectic at our Mongolian workshop due to the effects of COVID-19, so I haven't been able to write a blog post, and this is my first update in a month.

I would like to write a review of what has happened in Mongolia over the past month.

Lunar New Year and Coronavirus (Covid-19)

At first, I was planning to talk about how Mongolian New Year is celebrated and Mongolian customs, but due to the impact of COVID-19, the government announced that the celebrations would be canceled, so this year we will be celebrating the New Year just with our family, without leaving the house.

Some people may be wondering, "Isn't it normal to celebrate only with family?" so I will give you a brief introduction to Mongolian New Year.

Of course, New Year's Day in Japan is celebrated just with family, but it is traditional to then go to relatives' houses to greet them.
In my case, about 150 people come to my house during the Lunar New Year, and I go to greet about 10 relatives. (That may be quite a lot.)

This is how you will meet a lot of people during the Lunar New Year.
As a result, the government decided that celebrating the Lunar New Year could lead to a rapid spread of infection, and so this year's Lunar New Year was canceled.
I was very surprised because it is a traditional event and I didn't expect the government to take such measures.

For me personally, it's a lot of work to cook a huge feast (food) and go and greet a lot of people, so I thought it was easier to just celebrate with my family.

Infection control measures in Mongolia

Although the Lunar New Year was canceled, there have been no major incidents in Mongolia. I think this is the result of the country taking early steps to prevent infections in Mongolia, as China is next door.

The following coronavirus infection prevention measures are being taken in Mongolia:

  • Schools were closed from the end of January until March 2nd, but this has now been extended until the end of March.
  • Entry into China is prohibited until the end of March, but people are only allowed to carry goods on trains.
  • Lunar New Year celebrations were canceled and domestic transit travel (by bus, etc.) was halted for about a week.

(March 4th: State when domestic transit movement was opened)

  • The first case of infection (a French person on a business trip) was discovered on March 10th, and supermarkets, markets other than restaurants, shopping malls, bars, and karaoke were temporarily closed.
  • Mongolia: Flights to Japan, South Korea, China and Europe canceled until March 28th.
  • Of course, wear a mask and wash your hands!

Everything is now back to normal, except for school holidays, the suspension of flights, trains and cars, and time restrictions on service businesses.

Currently (March 20th) infected: 6 (all people who entered the country from overseas)

Infection control measures at the Mongolian workshop

With the government taking the above measures, HushTug's Mongolian workshop is continuing production without any problems.

I'm really pleased that the March production went smoothly and preparations for April's production are finally finished.

In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, our Mongolian workshop is taking the following precautions:

    1. Everyone who enters and leaves the facility must wash and disinfect, and everyone must wash and disinfect before eating.
    2. Prohibition of events with large numbers of people, drinking parties, etc.
    3. If you experience any abnormalities in your physical condition, such as a fever or feeling fatigued, report it immediately to your supervisor and ask them to consult a doctor.
    4. Wearing a mask

The effects of COVID-19 are having a hard time all over the world, but all employees at HushTug's workshops are following the government's measures carefully so as not to disappoint our customers, and we are also taking measures like this within the workshop.

※These are the disinfectants and gloves I use on a regular basis. There was a shortage of masks in Mongolia and the prices of masks went up, but people started making masks out of cloth at home and selling them, so there is no longer a shortage of masks.

    lastly

From mid-February to mid-March, there were many restrictions due to the effects of COVID-19, and many difficult things happened. In March, we are making production so as not to cause any delays in manufacturing, but due to the effects of COVID-19, flights have been canceled, and there may be delays in deliveries of products in April.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their products, and we appreciate your understanding.

HushTug workshop will continue production despite the effects of COVID-19, so please continue to support us.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for the next update!
