Commentary from the Production Site Series: Tote Bags

This time I would like to write a little about the features of HushTug's first product, the tote bag, and the ingenuity that went into making it.

HushTug tote bags have four main features

①Ultimately simple

② Lots of inner pockets

④ Large capacity enough to store a 13-15 inch laptop

HushTug tote bags have an extremely simple design that does not use any metal fittings.

It can be used in a wide range of situations, including business and private life, as well as children's entrance ceremonies.

We have paid careful attention to every detail in our design to achieve this simplicity.

For example, the handle is designed to be recessed inwards in pursuit of simplicity.

In addition, HushTug uses a gold zipper, but in order to hide this zipper, it is designed to be recessed inward. This makes it look simple and unadorned from the outside.

We also try not to display the "logo" on the front to symbolize the brand. Even Apple always has its logo on the outside, but with HushTug, we pursued simplicity by making even the logo invisible.

While pursuing simplicity, we also neglect functionality. There are three pockets in total: two pockets and one zipper pocket. The zipper pocket allows you to store valuables and other items, and also allows you to store small items that tend to get scattered neatly.

Regarding the zipper pocket, we sandwiched a core material between the zipper and the zipper to prevent it from twisting, because zippers can easily become distorted if they are made in the normal way. This allows the zipper to maintain its shape even when pressure is applied, and it also looks crisp.

One of the characteristics of Mongolian leather is that it is hard and durable, and to take advantage of this, we designed the bag to be able to stand on its own for ease of use.

It's fine at first because the leather is hard, but leather softens and becomes more comfortable with use, so we put a core material inside so that the bag can stand on its own forever. Also, the bottom is where pressure is applied when you put something in, so we took that into consideration and put a sponge-like but hard core material inside.

For example, it is designed with a large capacity so that it can store A4 files, books, notebooks , ballpoint pens, a laptop (13 inches), a cardigan, a card case, perfume, a business card holder, keys, a long wallet, and a tumbler.

Although it has a large capacity, if you continue to stuff it to the brim, the leather will stretch and it may lose its shape, so we have attached a flexible core material to prevent the leather from stretching. If you force it to be too full, the core material itself may tear inside, but if you don't do that, it's fine, so you can use the same design for a long time.
